Fashion Merchandising Career Forum

Texas State hosted the 1st annual Fashion Merchandising Career Forum this past Thursday and it was phenomenal! One of the best opportunities I have had since I have been here at Tx State.

The day was full of wonderful speakers from Kohl's, JCPenny, Dillard's, Target, Saks 5th Avenue and many more.

The highlight of my day was being able to meet and hear Ms. Donna Muslin of Muslin Associates (a PR and special events planning agency) speak about her extraordinary career. She's had the chance to work with Oscar de la Renta and Narciso Rodriguez....Such an inspiration!

The day was wrapped up with a fashion show put on by Dillard's and Tx State's Fashion Merchandising Association.

Not only did I have a good time but I gained so much information. Not to mention the delicious breakfast and lunch was the cherry on top of a fabulous day :P

I had an amazing time and can't wait for next year!

EXPRESS Boho Luxe

So I'm really loving the new spring 2010 collection from Express! Now I know the boho look has been in style for a few seasons now, but I really love the more tropical take on it. All of the jewel tones and busy textures and embellishments give it a summer glam vibe.

Ahh...makes me want to be off in Cabo or something lol

I wouldn't mind having some of these pieces in my summer wardrobe ;)

who dazzeled you on the red carpet?

a couple things that have been making my mouth water lately...

no no it's nothing edible... although I could use a cookie right now :)

the first thing is the new spring nail polish shade by NARS in Purple Rain. The website describes it as a "gothic purple" and I think this delicious shade is the perfect combination of dark and bright for spring and could even be worn into the fall.

 Secondly is the Balmain RTW Fall 2010 collection that caught my eye from the recent Paris Fashion Week.

These decadent pieces incorporate glam rock n' roll with dramatic tailoring and beautiful draping. So YUMMY!
